“The education I received at CCM has been a real game changer. I would not have been prepared for today’s world without it. People say that as a college student there often is a professor who impacts your life. For me, it was Professor Sueanne Verna. She believed in me and really pushed me to be the person I am today. She genuinely cares about each one of her students and their success. Maggie followed her CCM #ProvenPathways to become a radiographer at the Jupiter Medical Center Urgent Care facilities in Florida.”

“I had excellent professors who challenged me every step of the way. They encouraged me to take Honors classes, write papers in the Chicago [Manual of] Style, as well as prepare Honors presentations. I have been able to apply these skills to my studies at my new university.”

“As a nursing student at OCC, I had the opportunity to learn from and train under so many excellent nursing instructors, who helped instill a “patient first” approach to my work. It is this same belief that led me to join the Ocean County Health Department’s call to action in April of 2020. As the Nursing Supervisor of the Covid-19 Test Site at OCC and the Covid-19 vaccination site in Toms River, it has been my privilege to work alongside some of those same nursing instructors and so many other OCC nursing graduates, as we put our “community first” in the fight against this pandemic. My education in the OCC Nursing Program and OCC’s direct support of the Ocean County Health Department in eventually ending this pandemic should be a shining example of the importance of the OCC nursing program to the public health of our community.”

“Salem’s flexibility and availability of courses allowed me to begin both my schooling as well as my career. I graduated from Salem Community College with a degree in Communications and Journalism, and I am now the Senior Creative Team Lead at Geico.”
