State law gives the New Jersey Council of County Colleges (Council) the responsibility to develop and recommend to the State Treasurer a formula for the allocation of state operating aid to the 18 Community Colleges. In 2021, the Council adopted a new funding formula that is aligned with the key values of access, equity, and success.
1. The Collaboration/Operations Committee is charged to develop and recommend for adoption any changes to the current formula for the allocation among the community colleges of annual appropriations made by the State to support Community Colleges.
2. The Committee’s recommended formula will be forwarded to the Executive Committee for review and comment and then will be transmitted to the full Council for final action.
3. Once approved, the Council transmits its recommendation to the State Treasurer so that the revised formula can be implemented.
