Antonio Acevedo

Professor Antonio Acevedo, Associate Professor and Coordinator of History, Political Science, and American Studies at Hudson County Community College, is recognized for his transformative approach to pedagogy. He is the co-founder of the award-winning Hudson Oral History Project, which trains students to capture the voices of one of the nation’s most diverse areas. A National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Scholar, Professor Acevedo challenges his students to be critical, independent thinkers through innovative curriculum and experiential learning trips to sites like the National Museum of African American History and Culture. His work has been recognized nationally by the American Association of Community Colleges and the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.
