Julie Diaz

Julie Diaz, Deputy Commissioner at the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development, is a proud alumna of Middlesex College with an associate’s degree in Business Administration. In her current role, she oversees critical areas such as workforce development, wage and hour compliance, and vocational rehabilitation services, working to create a level playing field for New Jersey’s workers and employers. Her career in public service is extensive, including serving as Chief of Staff for the NJDOL and as Political Director for Local 32BJ SEIU, the nation’s largest property services union. Deputy Commissioner Diaz is a staunch advocate for immigrant protections, women’s equality, and worker rights, embodying the leadership that community colleges foster.
