NJ Pathways Happening: RVCC Holds Kickoff for Statewide Initiative Focusing on General Education, Career Readiness

Raritan Valley Community College

Understanding the importance of providing students with the “soft skills” and “durable skills” valued by employers to succeed in today’s job market, Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) launched the pathway project, “Essential Learning, General Education, and Career Readiness Center for Workforce Innovation (CWI),” on November 8.

The kickoff event, attended by 113 faculty and staff from 14 of New Jersey’s community colleges throughout the state, featured keynote speaker Dr. Niesha Taylor, Director of Career Readiness at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). A professional association, NACE connects over 17,000 college career services professionals, university relations and recruiting professionals, and the business solution providers that serve this community.

RVCC is partnering with 13 New Jersey community colleges on the new Center of Workforce Innovation, which is supported by the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development (NJCCCWED) and its NJ Pathways to Career Opportunities Initiative.
