NJ Pathways Project Highlight: Integrated Education & Training (IET) Essentials of Supply Chain Management

UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ (UCNJ) and Middlesex College piloted the implementation of the Integrated Education and Training (IET) Essentials of Supply Chain Management (ESCM) program for English language learners.  

Eight students completed the program at UCNJ and all participants earned three industry credentials through the Council of Supply Chain Management professionals (CSCMP) while also participating in contextualized English language instruction developed during NJ Pathways Year 1. CSCMP SCPro Fundamentals industry credentials earned during this program included (1) Supply Chain Management Principles, (2) Customer Service, and (3) Inventory Management. 

Middlesex College partnered with UCNJ to offer the IET/Supply Chain Management program. Nine students enrolled in the program which concluded on August 16, 2024. Four successfully completed the three components of the program and are preparing to take the credential exam for each of the three industry credentials. 

Middlesex College and UCNJ shared instructors, curriculum and identified program areas needing enhancements together. UCNJ assisted Middlesex College with addressing and adjusting curriculum and the colleges have seen positive results within their programs.
